CUTTING METHOD - Please read carefully
Most machines on the market cut on top of the rolls with the front
of the blades forward of the top apex of the roll. This method necessitates
acute blade setting depths and tool bar depths. The moving of board
thru these pinch points create pressures up and down requiring several
roll supports and a heavy tool bar. JOB
PAL cuts behind and below the apex of the roll in
the space between the cutting roll and the rear feed roll. The front
edge of the blades need to clear the back of the roll approximately
1/8". The resiliency of the board against the blades regulates
the depth of cut and reduces the up and down pressures on the machine
parts. The blades are designed to narrow the width of the cut on
the ship lap. When the board is folded, the extra fiber creatres
resiliency on each side and makes a more rigid duct section. If
you or your machine operators do not agree on this method of grooving,
do not consider this machine. |
